For My Brother.

Maybe you should up that percentage to something like...I don't know...75%.
p.s. Nothing runs like a Deere.

I don't like to brag...but today I'm going to.

Mmm....

Okay, this beer was still cold. It was Crappy Beer Night last night...and it was grand!
The Pabst - Amanda's
The High Life - Michael, Mitch, and Dave's (they each had their own).
The Schlitz - all mine.
The Old Style - again...ALL MINE.
(not pictured - Linsey's margarita)

I truly love crappy beer.

The making of things.

After all, aren't gnomes from Holland? Now, where the hell is Heidi?

I love this photo of me! See what I have to put up with while trying to make the above photo?
Hair blowing all over, camera strap about to hit me in the face, roommate in the car taking photos of me taking photos of a little plastic gnome named Gary. All the while my beer is getting cold. Come on!
It really was a great day.

If only...

On the previous post, anonymous posted: "try a glenlevite works fer me".
I think it is apparent that anonymous forgot what happened the last time I had a Glenlevite.
(see above photo)
I was home for Christmas. I drank my fair share of scotch, threw up in the shower, and passed out on the bathroom floor. I never did make it to the Christmas party I was intending to attend.
That has been a while and I think I am fully recovered now. So anonymous (dad) if you would be so kind as to buy me some Glenlevite...maybe I could get that good nights sleep I deserve.
Think about it...don't you want the best for you children.

I can't sleep.

You never gnome.

You really never know where the day will take you.
I woke up this afternoon (I had worked my last night shift for a while), and roommate was ready to road trip. So, we grabbed Gary the Gnome and my cameras and the mullet wig and beers and away we went. We hit five or six small towns, some corn fields (see above photo), roommates family farm, and a tractor pull. Yes, a tractor pull.
As we were about home, a song came on the radio. The lyrics were saying something to the fact that life wasn't always beautiful but the journey was...I'm not sure exactly. But I thought...I don't agree with that. I think life is beautiful. Not just the journey of it all, but life itself. If it weren't, how else would one end up at a tractor pull in the middle of Nebraska, while wearing a John Deere hat I might add. That sort of stuff doesn't just happen. If one can see the beauty in that...you know what I'm talking about.

What are you...nuts?

This is one of my favorite photos. I have always absolutely loved it. I can't really tell you why, because I don't know myself. It could be because it reminds me of when dad and I went to the baseball game. That was a good day. It could be because the peanut reminds me of Jessica, who is a good friend. It could be because it always makes me want a peanut butter and jelly sand which (crunchy, of course). It could be because I'm a total sucker for a photo with a soft background (no editing involved in this one...this is 100% photographic skill-or luck, however you want to put it. i like to say skill). It could be because one nut is exposed, and the other isn't, which makes me think of humans-there is a side everyone sees and a side we hide away. But enough babbling, no matter the reason...it will always be one of my favorites.
So I guess yes, I must be a little..."nuts".

I'll blog a blur.

Looking back on my life thus far...a lot of it is a blur.
My childhood-kinda blurry. Adolescence-can't wait until I'm done with it! High school-hope it stays blurry. College-parts are crystal clear, others...yep, blurry. Wyoming-AAHHH! Moving to Lincoln-becoming a blur. College again-oh, mostly pretty fresh but I'm trying to blur it out as we speak. Golfing today-I need to blur out about 15 strokes.
This photo-you guessed it. But it is still lovely...as is my life thus far.

Variations on a theme:

The Beethoven in the backround gives me a hint for the title of this blog.
The clock on the wall gives me a constant reminder of my ten o'clock tee time.
The wiener dog licking the empty bowl of spaghetti gives me a ....wait, what? No she's not.
Yes she is.
This photo of Mitch gives me a reminder of what?...12 years ago? Holy crap, that is a long time.
(i told you i'd blog this photo)
I went downtown two nights in a row. It has been quite a while since that has happened.
I hate downtown*.
(*= O'Rourkes...i heart O'Rourkes)
Anyways, it seems that whenever Mitch and I end up downtown I always drag him to O'Rourkes. Here's to you Mitch. To new beers,
(maybe "beer" is plural, but I still like to say "beers)
letting me drag you where I will, and for being a good friend. Ho-0h!
"Just ask the school nurse...she's got like, five extra sticks in her drawer".

Fore!

Went golfing yesterday...maybe one of my worst rounds ever. The 18th hole went amazingly (maybe not a word) well so I am going again tomorrow. I'm probably begging for punishment. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. If you ask me...it is the Wii's fault that my game went to crap. Stupid Wii.

Wii...continued

Mitch and roommate and I had a bowling and a golf tournament last night. It was quite competitive, quite competitive. No punches were thrown and we are all still friends.
So I guess that's good.

I'm a pro!

Hey...that sort of looks like "Mii".
Lane and I got Sarah a Wii for her birthday. We gave it to her 53 days early. We had already played it when we gave it to her. Oops. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARAH!
Sarah, Lane, and Owen are on vacation this week and she was wonderful enough to lend me her Wii for the week. I would like to announce that I am now a pro golfer. No really, the game has me ranked as a pro. Take that bee-at....wait, what? Also, my right arm is very sore and I'm sleep deprived. Damn Wii...(i love you)

Three years.

Greg sent me these photo's of some of his fishing trips in Montana. For the first time since I moved back to Nebraska I can honestly say...it made me miss Wyoming. Ahh!! That's something I thought I'd never say.
It will be three years on the 14th since I left Casper. I still don't miss Casper, but I miss the mountains in northern Wyoming. We would take fly fishing trips up there. It was so peaceful and beautiful and secluded. I miss being able to only have to drive and hour to be in the mountains. My how things have changed.
Last week I brought my fly rod out for the first time since that August three years ago.
It was weird.
